8th-Ranked Colby Coasts Past Husson

BANGOR, Maine -- The eighth-ranked Colby College women's lacrosse team led 8-0 after less than 15 minutes of play as the Mules coasted to an easy 16-3 non-conference win over Husson University on Wednesday.

Colby first-year attacker Katie Griffin is up to 16 goals on the season after leading the Mules with three. Ali Iannotti, Kirsten Karis, Claire Donegan, and Alex Mintz all had two goals for the winners.

Katharine Eddy led Colby with two caused turnovers and had one goal and one assist. The Mules received two assists from Kate Gragnolati and single goals from Sarah Lux, Anne Geraghty, Lindsey McKenna, and Casey Thomas.

The Mules had a 30-6 shot advantage in the game and led 11-2 at halftime.

Eddy scored 34 seconds into the game off an assist from tri-captain Caitlin Briody. The Mules then had five goals in a span of 2:54 to take a 6-0 lead.

Sarah Warnke and Michelle Burt each played one half in goal for Colby.
