Explorers Falls to Saint Joseph's on Late Goal

The Explorers scored the first four goals in their game against Saint Joseph's but couldn't hold the momentum, falling 7-6.

Trailing 7-6 and after playing defense for nearly four minutes, the Explorers got the ball back with about 30 seconds left in regulation after a caused turnover and ground ball picked up by Sara Ciaverelli.

La Salle couldn't capitalize on the possession, with Saint Joseph's sealing the game after the Explorers turned the ball over out of bounds.

Taylor Ruland opened scoring for La Salle less than three minutes into the contest. McGurkin added her two goals, followed by one by Samantha Tulskie to put the Explorers up 4-0 with 20:21 remaining in the first half.

The Hawks would then reel off five unanswered goals. The Explorers got back on top, 6-5, after scores by Jackie Roebuck and Lauren McDermott. La Salle couldn't hold the lead, allowing two Saint Joseph's goals in the last 20 minutes of the contest.

Three Saint Joseph's players each added a pair of goals in the team's victory. La Salle posted 18 turnovers to the Hawks' 10.
