Fifth-Ranked Cortland Overwhelms Oswego

Cortland answered immediately with seven straight markers following Di Fato's second of five goals during the game. Oswego State closed out the stanza with goals from Darcy and Kelly Collins, as the Lakers trailed 12-5 at the break.

The second half belonged to the home team, though, as Cortland held Oswego State scoreless in the final 30 minutes and added eight goals of its own to cruise to the win. The Red Dragons went on to outshoot the Lakers, 46-11, but struggled on free position shots, converting just 1 of 7 chances.

Ashlee Engel suffered the loss in goal for the Lakers making 13 saves in the first 50 minutes, while Nicole Nalle posted two saves in the final ten. Cortland's Ally Levy and Shauna Hutchinson combined to make six saves for the Red Dragons.

Oswego State will look to get back on track Tuesday when it travels to Buffalo to face Buffalo State at 4:00 p.m.
