Hebberd, Marvin Help Pfeiffer Roll by St. Andrews

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Sarah Hebberd (Golden, CO) and Natalie Marvin (South Berwick, ME) each scored four goals as Pfeiffer University defeated St. Andrews 19-6 in Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Falcons improve to 8-5 overall winning their second-straight, 3-1 in league play. The Lady Knights see a two-game win-streak come to an end falling to 4-9, 1-3.

Pfeiffer tallied the first four goals on Saturday while holding the Lady Knights to just one second-half strike. Liz Melesh (Annapolis, MD) started the day with a goal just 22 seconds in for a 1-0 Lady Falcon lead. Marvin would tally two of her four in a four-minute span while Hebberd would sandwich her first of the contest in between.

Allie Faulhaber (Apex, NC), Anna Egeln (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL) and Megan Jolly (Waterloo, KY) would each register a St. Andrews goal to cut the lead down to 4-3 before Shannon Bonnel (Mechanicsville, MD) put Pfeiffer back up three with two-straight goals. After Jolly and Kim McDaniel (Joppa, MD) each hit again for the Lady Knights, Pfeiffer would rattle off the next four to close out the half with a 9-5 lead.

Melesh and Jessica Moulton (Huntingtown, MD) each hit within 3:07 of the second half before Faulhaber notched the final SAPC goal of the afternoon. Pfeiffer scored the next eight unanswered covering a 19:10 span for the final 13 goal margin. Hebberd, Moulton and Marvin each had two over the final span while Melesh and Kristina Anderson (Gaithersburg, MD) had the final tally with 7:03 remaining.

Bonnel and Katherine Athens (Huntingtown, MD) each had four groundballs in the win while Laura Shea (Damascus, MD) led with three caused turnovers. Kaitlin Booth (Winter Springs, FL) made eight saves in goal during the win.

Pfeiffer will return to action on Thursday heading to Lees-McRae for a 4:00 p.m. matchup with the Lady Bobcats.
