Late Run Lifts Arcadia Over Lebanon Valley

GLENSIDE, Pa. - A late 6-1 outburst by Arcadia broke open a one-goal game as the Knights won, 21-15, in a high-scoring Middle Atlantic Conference contest on Saturday. LVC's Hana Krechel and Lindsey Buckman netted five goal apiece.

Arcadia's Stephanie Holguin scored eight goals, including three during the decisive 6-1 run over the final 16:17 of the game as the Knights (3-5, 2-4 MAC) blew open a 15-14 lead to win 21-15 over the Dutchmen (3-4, 2-2 MAC).

LVC did well to stay in the game despite being outshot 46-27 (including 25-9 in the second half), riding a combined 19 saves by goalkeepers Corinne Palombo and Erica Ameigh. LVC went 5 for 7 from the 8-meter arc.

Buckman and Krechel combined for 10 of LVC's 15 goals, and Christy Wilson added twi with an assist. Kristin Clift, Taylor Kruter, and Mel Modrick also had a goal apiece. Arcadia's Meghan Fallon added six to pair with Holguin's eight, and Kreena Patel had a hat trick.

LVC never led, but held it close for 45 minutes, never letting Arcadia get up by more than two as the sides traded goals the entire way. Wilson scored twice in less than a minute to make it a 15-14 game with 17:46 to go, but Arcadia's Kristen Chasse scored 1:30 later to spark the final 6-1 run, with Holguin adding two more goals before Buckman got one back from the arc with 13:17 left, making it an 18-15 score.

That would prove to be LVC's last goal as Patel, Fallon, and Holguin added more to secure the win for the Knights.

Deanna Thompson stopped 11 to earn the win for Arcadia; Palombo was charged with the loss while making 10 stops in 32:00, and Ameigh had nine saves in 28:00.

LVC will host Lycoming on Wednesday.
