Wheelock Shut out in First Meeting with Regis

WESTON, MA - Regis scored five times in the opening 5:30 en route to a 14-0 victory against Wheelock in non-conference action on Wednesday at the Regis Athletic Field. The first-year Wildcats remained winless through six contests, while the Pride moved to 3-2.

Freshman Tyler Beyor (Carthage, NY/Carthage) picked up the win after making one save during a shutout first half, and classmate Breandan Crane (Billerica, MA/Arlington Catholic) turned aside a pair of second-half shots after scoring a goal of his own during the opening stanza. Sophomore Stephan Bottex (Norwood, MA/Norwood) went 12 for 12 on draws and tallied seven ground balls.

Freshman Matt Molloy (Saugus, MA/St. Mary's) scored after 57 seconds for the eventual game-winner before Hastings tallied off a man-up opportunity at 12:02 of the first quarter. Basbas scored the next pair 1:05 apart, with his second marker the first of three straight that Stewart assisted. The Pride made it 7-0 at 3:42 before slowing the tempo, netting a pair of goals in each the second and fourth quarters, and tallying three times in the third.
