Neumann Rallies to Edge Shenandoah, 13-12

ASTON, Pa. - Host Neumann University rallied for a 13-12 men's lacrosse victory in CSAC action Wednesday afternoon.

Shenandoah (0-10, 0-3 CSAC) led the Knights (3-7, 1-2) by five goals early in the second half only to see Neumann rally for the win.

SU took a 10-5 lead on a Courtney Ledden to Sean Mack tally 1:16 into the third, but could only watch as NU scored seven straight goals to take a 12-10 lead with 8:30 remaining.

Tre Brinson and Ledden knotted the game at 12-12 with unassisted goals at 8:04 and 3:05, respectively, but the Knights had an answer.

Mark Consolo found Steven Miner with 2:43 remaining for the game-winner, and Neumann prevented Shenandoah from earning its first victory of the season.

The Hornets had just one shot following that Miner goal, a Mac Hedrick attempt with four seconds left that was turned away.

Mack led SU with four goals and two assists for six points while Hedrick had two goals and two assists and Gregory Love two goals.

Shenandoah outshot its hosts 45-27, won 18 of 27 faceoffs and had a 33-27 advantage in groundballs.

Kenney May did most of the damage at the 'x', winning 11 of 15 draws.

The Hornets host Centenary (N.J.) in another CSAC contest on Saturday at 1:00.
