Eastern Cruises by Wilkes for MAC Victory
ST. DAVIDS, Pa.- Eastern University Women's Lacrosse scored three times in the opening three minutes and cruised to a 21-2 win over Wilkes University in a home MAC contest. The Eagles built an 11-2 edge at half and held the visiting Colonels scoreless through the second half of play.
After their quick start, the home side fell into a rhythm and worked to try to generate offense in settled situations. In that context, Wilkes kept the game within shouting distance at 6-2 with two minutes left. The Eastern offense then exploded for five goals in the final 95 seconds of the first half to put the game away.
Christy Hild started the burst with her third of four on the day on a free position shot. Kendall Rood then controlled the draw and raced to the crease for her only tally of the day. Hild finished her scoring 25 seconds later on a feed from behind the goal by Amelia McNamara.
