Wesley Falls to Mary Washington on Senior Day

DOVER, Del. - Mary Washington held Wesley College to one goal in the second half to break a tie game open and won 16-8 in CAC action.

The Wolverines (5-9, 2-5 CAC) used a three-goal run in the second quarter to take a 7-6 lead after a Scott Brozey (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) goal with 5:14 left in the half. The Eagles (9-5, 5-2 CAC) used a goal by Sean Dacey two and a half minutes later to send the teams into the intermission tied at 7-7.

Mary Washington ran off the first eight goals of the second half, holding Wesley scoreless for 26:07.

Kohl Meyer turned in a big game for the Eagles with four goals, two assists, 10 ground balls and went 6 of 11 on face offs.

Justin D'Alonzo (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) had three goals to lead the Wolverines. Brozey added two scores and assisted on another.

Michael McQuarrie (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) went 11 of 18 on face offs with eight ground balls.

Sean Mathews (Baltimore, Pa./Pennsbury) made 15 saves before Michael McGuigan (Middletown, Del./Middletown) came on in relief for the final seven minutes.

Mark Bowler added three goals for the Eagles. Harry Snyder had two goals and two assists.

Ryan Kleman stopped 17 shots for Mary Washington.

Wesley wraps up the regular season with a game against St. Mary's (Md.) on April 12 at 4:00 PM.
