#7 Franklin & Marshall Polishes off Garnet for CC Win

SWARTHMORE, Pa. Erin Dunne scored a season-high six goals to power #7 Franklin & Marshall to a 20-9 Centennial Conference (CC) win at Swarthmore on Saturday.

The Diplomats (12-1, 6-0 CC) got on the board first when Cat Serpe cashed in on the first of F&M's six free position goals in the game. Serpe's marker sparked a 5-0 F&M run to start the game. Dunne scored twice in the opening salvo, including her first from the eight-meter mark. She went three for three on her free position shots on Saturday.

The bulk of Swarthmore's (8-4, 2-3 CC) scoring came from eight-meters, having scored five of their nine goals in the game from the fan. Corrine Sommi scored a pair of FPS goals on her way to a hat trick. Marie Mutryn and Emily Evans each scored a pair each, while Annalise Perkins scored a goal and assisted on three more.

The Diplomats, who fired 35 shots to Swarthmore's 20, got its usual balance on the attack. Katie Delaney scored three goals, while Lauren Ehrhardt, Mary Mitchell and Maggie Mae Shields each scored twice. Shields and Ehrhardt each tacked on an assist for good measure. Ehrhardt's pair came in the opening 10 minutes. She also won a game-high four draws.

The Diplomats kick off a tough three-game stretch at home Friday night when No. 1 The College of New Jersey pays a visit. The Diplomats will face Haverford on Saturday, before closing out the regular season home slate against Gettysburg the following Wednesday.
