Westminster Defeats Utah to Clinch Conference Title

SALT LAKE CITY The top-ranked Westminster women's lacrosse team defeated No. 6 Utah 12-9 on Tuesday evening to clinch the first Rocky Mountain Women's Lacrosse League title in school history.

Westminster climbs to 14-4 on the year and finish the regular season with a perfect 7-0 record in RMWLL games. Utah drops to 8-9 overall and 4-2 in league games.

Chelsea Farrell led the Griffin attack on Tuesday, scoring five goals for the seventh time in the last eight games. Lindsey Mark added three goals with Sage Johnson posting one goal and one assist. Regan Lelli made a school record 22 saves in the cage.

Westminster wins the RMWLL title just three years after the program was launched. They will be the No. 1 seed in Saturday's RMWLL Tournament that will be played at Dumke Field. The Griffins will open at 9 a.m. against the No. 4 seed.
