Red Foxes Drop MAAC Match to Iona

The Gaels then went on a march, launching a string of six unanswered goals to take a cushy 14-8 lead with 4:57 to play. Despite Marist recording the final two goals of the day, Iona locked down its third conference win of the year with one matchup left on the schedule.

The Gaels just edged the Red Foxes 26-25 in ground balls and 14-12 in draw controls. Goalkeeper Maria Ortiz (New Milford, CT) made ten saves while Ashley Casiano denied seven for Marist.

The regular season will draw to a close on April 21, when Iona hosts Fairfield (10-4, 4-0 MAAC) at 11:00 am at Mazzella Field.
