Centenary Picks up CSAC Victory at CND
BALTIMORE, Md. (April 15, 2011) – Centenary picked up a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) road victory with an 18-8 win over College of Notre Dame, Friday in Baltimore, Md. The Lady Cyclones improve to 5-3, 4-1 in CSAC action while CND falls to 2-11, 1-5 in conference play.
Junior Meredith Bruce (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) finished with a game-high eight points on a game-best six goals as well as two assists. Sophomore Nicole Judd (St. Louis, Mo./Lafayette Senior) tallied a career-high seven points on four goals and three assists.
Junior Hannah Ally (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) recorded a personal-best six points on four goals and two assists. Junior Danielle Bay (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) and sophomore Allie Swartz (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) each contributed two goals and an assist.
Swartz and senior Lauren LaMotta (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial) tied for the team-lead with six groundballs and LaMotta and sophomore Kellie Rose (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) each recorded three caused turnovers. Goalies Brittany Young (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) and Ako Nakabun (Tokyo, Japan/Koyamadai Metropolitan) combined to make eight saves in the win.
CC returns to action on Saturday with a non-conference match against Rutgers-Camden at Cyclone Field at 11:00 a.m.
