Longwood Falls to Navy on Senior Day

Mandrin Hill contributed two goals, three draw controls and a ground ball. Sophomore Jasmine DePompeo had two assists and continues to lead the team in points on the season (71). Hamilton had two tallies off the bench.

Sophomore Michelle Verbeeck started her third straight game in goal and also earned her third straight win. Verbeeck allowed a career-low six goals in the game while also making a career- high 12 saves.

Junior defender Kierstin King had a strong performance of three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Defenders Beth Young and Claire Olechowski also caused two turnovers each.

Cara O'Brien led Longwood with two goals and goalie Juli Liebig made 10 saves.

Navy held a strong 12-5 advantage in draw controls, including a 7-0 spread in the second half. The Mids were also nearly perfect in clears (16 of 17) and outshot Longwood, 29-26,

Navy will play its final regular season game of the season at home against Lehigh on Saturday, April 23. Navy, Colgate and Lehigh all enter the final weekend of the season with 4-1 league records. If Navy defeats Lehigh, it will earn the No. 1 seed and host the postseason tournament. The Navy-Lehigh game will be televised by CBS Sports Network.
