Mercy Breezes by Bridgeport
Mercy College beat the University of Bridgeport 19-3 on Saturday, April 16. The game was played in chilly temperatures, with high winds.
Mercy got off to a quick start, jumping out to a 4-0 lead. Queens (0-6, 0-3 East Coast Conference) scored back-to-back goals, before the Mavericks (6-4, 2-1 ECC) scored six consecutive to take a 10-2 lead at the half.
For the game, sophomore Kelsey Sullivan (Mastic, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) led the attack with three goals and three assists. Freshman Kelsey Bub (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas) added four goals. Sophomore Brittnay Ott (Copiague, N.Y./Copiague) added three goals.
The Mavericks return to action on Sunday, April 17, hosting Queens College.
