Explorers Drop 13-8 Contest at Duquesne

The Explorers dropped a 13-8 decision to Duquesne on Sunday afternoon at Rooney Field. Trailing 13-4 in the closing minutes of the contest, La Salle scored four goals in the last 3:39, but it wasn't enough to overtake the Dukes.

Nora McGurkin, Melanie Sarcinello, and Taylor Ruland each scored a pair of goals for the Explorers. Katie Marasco and Samantha Tulskie each had one. Duquesne's Haley Marafioti scored five goals on nine shots.

La Salle will wrap up its season at McCarthy Stadium on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. when it hosts Temple. Seniors Brittany White, Nicole McCurdy, and Mara Schnellenbach will be honored in a pre-game ceremony.
