MSV Cruises Past Bard on Senior Night

Yonkers, N.Y. All four members of the senior class contributed on Monday night as Mount Saint Vincent closed out the Skyline Conference schedule with an 18-1 win over Bard on Senior Night. The senior class combined for 11 of the 18 goals, with Jessie Mitchell (Suffern, N.Y.) matching the program record for points in a game with 11, including the 200th of her career.

Mitchell figured in 11 of the 18 goals on the night after potting seven goals and helping on four others. She also led the team in groundballs with eight and draw controls with six. Mitchell has now scored 146 goals in her career to move into second place and became the second player in program history to post 200 career points and also stands in second in that category with 210.

Kristen LeGeyt (Stony Point, N.Y.) finished the night with four goals and a pair of assists for the Dolphins and also chipped in with a groundball, three draw controls and a team-high two caused turnovers.

Lauren Perla (Holbrook, N.Y.) finished off the night with a pair of goals for the Mount, going 2 for 2 in free position chances and also scooped four groundballs. Erin Woerner (Kings Park, N.Y.) added a goal along with a groundball and a draw control.

Mount Saint Vincent never let Bard close in the game, scoring the first 16 goals of the contest, including 14 in the first 30 minutes. Julia Caro (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) also had a strong offensive game with a hat trick for the Dolphins.

Overall in the game Mount Saint Vincent outshot Bard 30-6 and also held the edge in groundballs 35-11. Mount Saint Vincent also finished the game with a 15-6 advantage in draw controls, including winning 11 of 15 in the first half.

Michelle Miller (Chester, Pa.) picked up the win between the pipes for Mount Saint Vincent and made three saves in the game. She also finished the night with a groundball for the Dolphins.

The win pushes Mount Saint Vincent to 6-7 overall on the season and evens its Skyline Conference record at 4-4. The Dolphins will be back in action again for the first round of the league tournament which gets underway open April 26. Time and opponent are yet to be determined.
