Centenary Picks up Road Win at Immaculata

IMMACULATA, Pa. (April 19, 2011) Junior Hannah Ally (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) finished with a career-high nine points to lead Centenary (7-3, 5-1 CSAC) to a 17-11 win over Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe Immaculata (5-9, 3-4 CSAC), Tuesday in Immaculata, Pa.

Ally finished with six goals and three assists, both career-highs. Fellow classmate Danielle Bay (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) netted three goals and sophomore Allie Swartz (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) and junior Meredith Bruce (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) tallied two goals and an assist apiece.

Sophomore Alysia Pinkerton (Frenchtown, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) contributed two scores and classmates Nicole Judd (St. Louis, Mo./Lafayette Senior) and Kellie Rose (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) each found the back of the net once. Sophomore goalie Ako Nakabun (Tokyo, Japan/Koyamadai Metropolitan) recorded seven saves in the win.

Defensively, Judd tallied four groundballs and a team-best three caused turnovers, Swartz finished with five groundballs and two caused turnovers and Pinkerton tallied four draw controls, three caused turnovers and three groundballs.

Tied 3-3 in the first half, CC went on a 7-0 run, including two goals from Ally, to take an 11-5 lead at halftime. The Cyclones' offense continued to thrive in the second half, as they opened with a 6-1 run to take a 17-6 lead, before holding on to win by six.

Centenary returns to action on Wednesday, April 20, with a home game against Gwynedd-Mercy at 4:00 p.m.
