Mathews Leads No. 15 W&L Past Guilford

Keepers senior Katharine Farrar (Lexington, Va./Episcopal) and sophomore Alex Hamill (Darien, Conn./Darien) shared time in net, with Farrar earning the win after playing 37:06 and stopping seven shots while allowing three goals. Hamill played the final 22:54, stopping one shot and allowing three goals.

The Quakers were led by Garcia, who scored a game-high five goals. Midfielder Kathryn Carella scored the only other goal for GC, while keeper Liza Mettler collected a game-high five ground balls and midfielder Summer Frazier contributed a game-high seven draw controls. Mettler played all 60:00 in net, recording 10 saves.

W&L returns to action on Saturday as it hosts Randolph-Macon College on senior day at Watt Field. Start time is slated for 1:00 pm.
