Westfield State Bashes Becker in NEWLA Action
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State University jumped out to an 18-2 halftime lead and coasted to a 19-3 women's lacrosse victory over Becker College on Wednesday, April 20.
Westfield improved to 7-4 overall and 2-3 in the New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA). Becker is 5-7 and 1-4.
Senior Laura Chiricosta compiled a game-high seven points (2 goals, 5 assists) and junior Genna Raffaelo scored a game-high four goals.
Westfield's other top point producers were: Rachel Dionne (2 goals, 2 assists), Shannon Silvia (2 goals), Carly Keeley (2 goals), Nicole Dipilato (2 goals), Sarah Giardino (2 goals, 1 assist) and Becca Kelley (1 goal, 2 assists).
Owl netminder Jill Robinson recorded seven saves, including five stops in the first half.
