#2 Le Moyne Routs Franklin Pierce in NE-10 Play

Syracuse, N.Y. Second-ranked Le Moyne got goals from 11 different players in cruising to a 20-2 win over Franklin Pierce in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex.

The Dolphins opened the game's scoring with four goals over the first 4:46 of action. Senior midfielder Rebekah Elmer (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) tallied the first goal 1:43 into the contest. Junior midfielder Brittany Brigandi (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) found the back of the net 45 seconds later for her 54th goal of the season. Just under two minutes later, sophomore Brenna Bauer (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) converted a feed from Brigandi. Brigandi capped the streak with an unassisted marker 34 seconds after Bauer scored.

Mary Kate Stille scored off a free-position shot with 24:11 remaining to cut Le Moyne's lead to 4-1.

Following six and one-half minutes of scoreless action, the Dolphins scored twice in a span of 54 seconds. Senior Mia Valletta (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) tallied her 22nd goal of the season at the 17:40 mark and sophomore Gabrielle Kamide (Deferiet, N.Y./Carthage) followed by going coast-to-coast for her fifth goal of the season.

Jordan Baillargeon trimmed Le Moyne's lead to four with a free-position goal with 16 minutes left, but the Dolphins scored eight times over the final 10:30 of the half to take a 14-2 lead at the intermission. Elmer scored the first goal, with Brigandi following 20 seconds later.

One minute and two seconds later, Valletta gave the Dolphins a 9-2 advantage. Brigandi then scored three straight goals, two of which came off free-position shots, while the third was off a pass from senior Katlin Walker (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan Academy). Senior Michelle Phillips (Johnson City, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) tallied her 30th goal of the season with 2:12 left, while freshman Kathleen Conese (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) capped the half's scoring off a free-position shot with 15 seconds remaining.

Six different Dolphins scored in the second half to put the game away. Conese netted the first goal off a pass from Phillips 3:25 into the stanza. After 10 minutes of scoreless action, freshman Victoria Nies (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) scored off a free-position shot, while Valletta followed with a free-position goal of her own with 15:07 left.

Junior Stephanie Dussing (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) got into the scoring column with 12:40 to go off a pass from Valletta. Senior Leah Lazarz (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) scored Le Moyne's 19th goal with 5:17 left, while feeding Walker for the game's final goal with 2:55 remaining.

Junior goalkeeper Kelly Fucillo (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) made three saves in each half to register the win between the pipes. Jillian Bolduc made seven saves, including five in the second half, in the loss.

Le Moyne (14-1, NE-10 9-1), which clinched a top-three seed in the conference tournament, closes out the home portion of its schedule on Tuesday against American International at 4:00 p.m. Prior to the contest, the senior class of Elmer, Lazarz, Phillips, Valletta, Walker and Nerissa Barzee (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) were honored for their contributions to the program.
