No. 1 Maryland Outlasts No. 16 Georgetown

Along with a stellar performance from Dipper in the cage, Brittany Poist tallied a team-high two caused turnovers and two ground balls to lead the Maryland defense.

"Defensively, we played well tonight," head coach Cathy Reese said. "It was a game where Georgetown wanted to hold possession of the ball and that's fine. We've been playing in quite a few of those games this season.

"We forced them to take some shots they didn't want to take but our goalkeeper Brittany Dipper was phenomenal in the back for us. She had 12 saves ... that's just fantastic."

Maryland wraps up the regular season with a match at Dartmouth Sunday at noon.
