HPU Downs Presbyterian to Advance to NLC Semifinals
Presbyterian finally got some momentum in the final minutes. Meade had a breakaway and was defended, but her turnaround shot went wide. Less than a minute later, PC's Rupsch scored for the Blue Hose' only goal of the second half to make the final 15-3.
The Panthers dominated every statistical category, including outshooting Presbyterian, 35-11. HPU led ground balls, 32-17, and were a perfect 10 for 10 on clears. HPU won all nine draws of the second half and led 14-6 in the game.
High Point University will play in the NLC semifinals on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Davidson College. The Panthers will play the winner of the Longwood vs. Detroit game, which began at 7:00 p.m. Jacksonville and Davidson will meet in the other semifinal at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
