Wiggins Scores 7 as Bentley Dominates the Owls

WALTHAM, Mass. Junior Megan Wiggins (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough) scored seven goals, the most by a Bentley player in a single-game this season, as the Falcons beat Southern Connecticut 21-5 in the season-finale for both teams Friday night.

Wiggins and sophomore Cori Geiger (Agawam, Mass./Agawam) each had nine points. Geiger's came on two goals and seven assists, a team-high for assists this season. Sophomore Alex Carney (Providence, R.I./The Wheeler School) added four goals and 11 different players scored in all.

Bentley dominated from the get-go, scoring 13 seconds in from freshman Gillian Paradis (Mendham, N.J./Burr & Burton Academy), and three times in the first 62 seconds. They led 7-0 after six minutes and 9-0 after nearly 10 minutes after Wiggins scored her second of the game.

The score was 14-0 when Southern Conn., finally broke through on the first of junior Elaina Heiple's three goals at the 5:52 mark of the first half.

Wiggins scored the first three goals of the second half, the third of which was her 100th career point.

Bentley closes out the season at .500, 8-8 overall and 6-5 in the NE-10. They however will miss the postseason for the first since 2005 due to Southern New Hampshire's win over Saint Michael's this afternoon.
