Eleven Hit the Net as RPI Cruises by Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. Alissa Peterson scored all three of her goals in the first 15 minutes to spark visiting Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to a 15-2 victory over the University of Rochester in women's lacrosse at Edwin Fauver Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Eleven players scored goals for the Engineers. Whitney Kukol and Stephanie Caouette scored two apiece in addition to Peterson's hat trick. Seven players had assists. Jen Greenwood set up two goals. It is RPI's fifth straight victory. The Engineers are 10-4 overall, 6-2 in the Liberty League.

Niki Holmes scored both Rochester goals. The Yellowjackets finished the season at 1-7 in the Liberty League, 2-13 overall.

Allie Arnal played the first 49:32 in goal for RPI. She made five saves and allowed one goal. Muryum Khalid played the final 10:28. She made three saves and allowed one goal.

Rochester played Frances Cooley in the first half. Cooley made 10 saves and allowed 10 goals in 30 minutes. Sarah Skinner played the second half. She made one save and allowed five goals in 30 minutes.

RPI held a 24-6 advantage in first half shots, 30-18 for the game. The Engineers collected 22 ground balls, three apiece by Greenwood and Tracy Breslin. Rochester had 14 ground balls, three by Charlotte Clements. She also won three draw controls. Peterson won five draws for RPI.
