Towson Erupts for Win vs. Saint Joseph's in Finale
Norris scored off a pass from Stratton with 11:33 left in the game, upping the Tigers' lead to 13-1.
With 5:15 remaining in the contest, junior Matt Hanzsche (Mount St. Joseph H.S./Catonsville, Md.) scored a man-down goal off a pass from Mezzanotte for a 14-1 advantage. With four minutes left, freshman Devin Grimaldi (Corning East H.S./Corning, N.Y.) scored the first goal of his career, giving the Tigers a 15-1 lead.
With 1:56 left, junior Bobby Hurley (St. Joseph's Prep/Wayne, Pa.) closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal, making the final margin, 15-2.
Hughes, who finished the season with a team-high 18 goals, led the Tigers with two goals and one assist.
Stratton, who ended his career with 57 goals and 48 assists, had a goal and three assists in his final game while Mezzanotte had a career-best four points while extending his point streak to six straight games.
Hodgson, Lamon and Norris also scored a pair of goals for the Tigers.
Making his final career start, senior goalkeeper Travis Love (Winters Mill H.S./Westminster, Md.) made ten saves and allowed only one goal. He also contributed seven ground balls before leaving early in the fourth quarter.
