Mercy Finishes Season with Win at Seton Hill
Mercy College completed a western swing with a 2-0 record, beating Seton Hill University today, 11-8. Mercy finishes the second season in school history with a 9-6 record overall, and a 5-3 mark in the East Coast Conference.
Mercy scored eight of the last nine goals of the game to earn the win. Sophomore Brittany Ott (Copaigue, N.Y./Copaigue) had three goals on the day, as freshman Kristen Znaniecki (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) and sophomore Marissa Hurley (Shirley, N.Y./William Floyd) had two goals and as many assists each. First-year Kelsey Bub (Cortlandt manor, N.Y./Walter Panas) also had two goals.
Sophomore Callie Schwichtenberg (San Diego, Calif./Granite Hills) made seven saves in 30 minutes in goal, while classmate Stephanie DiLegge (Bayshore, N.Y./Bayshore) played the second half and made two stops to earn the win.
