2011 All-ECAC Teams and Awards Announced
Alexander, a native of Baldwin, N.Y., and a two-time ECAC Offensive Player of the Week this season, has played in 14 games, starting 13, and has 15 goals, eight assists and 23 points. After a slow start to the year on the scoresheet, he has points in nine of his last 10 games, including four multiple-goal games and eight outings with two or more points. Alexander has played in 29 games for the Buckeyes and has 26 goals, 16 assists and 42 points.
Bonanni, from Harwood, Md., has started 14 games on defense for the Buckeyes. He has seven caused turnovers and 13 groundballs for the defense that is second in the league in scoring defense. He has played in 39 games, starting 28, for the Scarlet and Gray and has 24 caused turnovers and 38 groundballs.
The all-conference teams and player of the year awards are voted on by the league's seven head coaches. Coaches could not vote for their own players.
The Buckeyes head to Denver, Colo., this weekend for the ECAC Tournament. Ohio State will take on top seed and host Denver at 9:00 p.m. ET Thursday in the semifinals. No. 2 seed Loyola and No. 3 Fairfield are meeting in the first semifinal. Both semifinal games will be streamed online for free through DenverPioneers.com. The championship game is set for 1:00 p.m. ET Saturday and will be televised live on ESPNU.
