Cy-Fair Top Seed in Texas Girls' Championships

The winner of that quarterfinal contest will take on No. 2 Hockaday (17-4) on Saturday at 3 PM. With senior midfielder Allie Kirchhofer, junior attack Maggie Fobare and senior attack Caroline Moore leading the way, the Daisies can be considered a title contender. The program won back-to-back Division 1 titles in '08 and '09 and should be in the hunt once again thanks to a balanced lineup.

Should St. John's prevail against Bowie, it would set up a much-anticipated semifinal showdown between the Mavericks and Daisies. The two programs have plenty of history together and includes Hockaday's 14-13 win back on March 4. Last season, St. John's knocked Hockaday out of the playoffs in the semifinals.

Division 2 Championships

In Division 2 action this weekend, No. 4 Allen takes on No. 5 Kingwood on Saturday with the winner moving on to face top seed Southlake Carroll in the semifinals. On the other side, No. 3 St. Agnes battles No. 6 Austin for a shot at No. 2 St. Stephen's in the semifinals. The winners from each side of the bracket will then meet in the state championship game scheduled for 9:30 AM on Sunday.
