Catonsville Names Bill Zopp New Head Coach

Baltimore, Md. The Community College of Baltimore County is proud to name Bill Zopp as the new men's lacrosse head coach at its Catonsville campus. Zopp replaces Glen Wingrove, who coached with the CCBC Catonsville program from 2006-2011.

Zopp was most recently the head coach at Baltimore Lutheran School, compiling a record of 44-7 over three years, while also capturing three consecutive MIAA "C"conference championships. His accomplishments while at Lutheran also included a perfect 16-0 record this past spring.

Prior to Baltimore Lutheran, Zopp served as an assistant coach at CCBC Essex from 2001-2007, during which time the program appeared in six NJCAA national championships games, winning the national championship in 2004.

In addition to his high school and college coaching background, Zopp has also coached at the club level with the Chesapeake Rock, and also served as a coach of the Maryland Prep team at the National Lacrosse Classic, winning the National Title in 2010.

An alumnus of the CCBC Essex Lacrosse program, finishing his playing career in 1995, Zopp also played collegiately at Greensboro College (NC) where he finished his career as the seventh all-time leading scorer in school history. He is also a Baltimore City teacher and resides in White Marsh ,Md. with his wife, Kelly, his daughter, Jordan Rose, and his son, Evan.
