Photos: Cannons Edge Nationals to Win MLL Title
Annapolis, Md. -- Boston scored a man-down goal by Matt Smalley with just under seven minutes remaining to in the third quarter to take a four-goal lead, but the Cannons had to hold off Hamilton to capture their first MLL championship, 10-9, this afternoon.
Matt Poskay led Boston with three goals, Pat Heim netted two, and Ryan Boyle had one goal and dished out three assists. Casey Powell paced the Nationals with four goals on the day, and Cody Jamieson added a pair. Jordan Burke had a strong day between the pipes for Boston and was awarded MVP honors.
