Queener Named Head Coach at Pomona-Pitzer

Sarah Queener enters her first year as the head coach of the Pomona-Pitzer lacrosse program in 2012 after a very successful playing and coaching career.

Queener spent the last two years as the head coach of the Newport Harbor High School girls' lacrosse program, where she led the Sailors to playoff appearances in each of her two years at the helm.

As the head coach for Claremont-Mudd-Scripps from 2007-2009, Queener's teams compiled a 40-7 record and qualified for the NCAA tournament in each of her three seasons. She led CMS to their first NCAA tournament appearance in 2007 and their first NCAA tournament win in 2008.

Queener began her collegiate coaching career at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where she served as an assistant coach from 2004-2006. She also assisted at Yale University during the fall of 2006.

Queener was four year starter at Yale University where she was a two-time All-Ivy league performer, an IWCLA All-American and a North-South Senior All-Star. During her senior year in 2003, she led the Bulldogs to an Ivy League title and an appearance in the NCAA tournament.

A native of Penn Yan, New York, Queener comes from a lacrosse family. Her parents Harry and Patricia are high school lacrosse coaches at Penn Yan Academy, her brothers Brett and Brice play professionally for the Hamilton Nationals, and her sister Sylvia plays at Limestone College.
