Hood MLax Assists US Lacrosse Fall Ball Program

FREDERICK, Md.--Members of Hood College are volunteering their time this fall as coaches of the Western Maryland chapter of the U.S. Lacrosse fall ball program.

Each Sunday from Sept. 11 through Oct. 23, the Blazers take turns coaching the WMDUSLAX U-9, U-11 and U-15 squads as well as the LOUYAA BLACK U-13 team. Games are held at Heritage Farm Park in Walkersville, the National Park on Rte. 144 in New Market and at Windsor Knolls Middle School.

"As a coach, seeing such an immediate and overwhelming response from our players to be involved with this fall ball program is truly a great thing," said head coach Jeremy Mattoon.

"It shows their willingness to give back to the surrounding area and excitement to be involved in the growth of the game. Volunteering at the youth level will allow our players to see the impact they can have on a young athlete. Not only do they serve as role models for these young athletes, but they also represent Hood College. I am very excited to see the impact our players will have on this program."
