Al Kohart Named Assistant Coach at USMMA

USMMA head coach Tom Gill has announced the appointment of Al Kohart as assistant coach. Kohart was a four-year letter winner and a two-time All Ivy League selection. He will serve the Mariners as midfield/faceoff coach, box coordinator, and help with strength and conditioning. He will also play a role in recruiting, scouting and game planning.

"I am very grateful and excited for the opportunity to be a part of the program here at USMMA Kohart stated. "When Coach Gill approached me about this position, I jumped at the opportunity. I knew immediately I wanted to be a part of what he has built here. I am excited to get started and to help build this team into a championship caliber program."

Kohart, who hails from Port Jefferson Station, New York, and Comsewogue High School, was a two-time All-Ivy with the Quakers, earning the honors in 2010 and 2011. During his career, he garnered 72 goals, 20 Assists, 48 gbs. and 7 ct's, starting in all 54 games during that period. He was team captain in 2011 and led the Quaker midfield with 26 goals.

He earned his degree from the College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania last May.
