Hoyas to Host Fall Tournament and WINNERS

WASHINGTON Georgetown will close out its fall season by hosting the Georgetown University Fall Ball Tournament at Multi-Sport Field on Saturday. Georgetown has had a productive fall season playing a number of local rivals including the U.S. Naval Academy and Johns Hopkins University.

The Blue & Gray will host three squads for a full day of lacrosse. WINNERS Lacrosse will also be on hand to promote its program.

WINNERS Lacrosse is a locally based non-profit that strives to make lacrosse available to underserved, inner-city boys and girls in the Washington metro area. WINNERS Lacrosse assists with secondary school placement so that the players can reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible young men and women. Through positive coaching and mentoring, WINNERS Lacrosse teaches boys and girls about teamwork, leadership, responsibility, accountability, respect and confidence.

On Saturday, admission is $5 with all proceeds going directly to WINNERS Lacrosse. The organization will also be running a concession stand and selling t-shirts as a fundraiser.

Georgetown will be one of four teams playing with games beginning at 9 a.m. The schedule is as follows

9 a.m. Georgetown vs. Maryland
10 a.m. James Madison vs. Lehigh
11 a.m. Georgetown vs. Lehigh
12 p.m. James Madison vs. Maryland
1 p.m. Maryland vs. Lehigh
2 p.m. Georgetown vs. James Madison

All games will have two 25-minute halves with a five-minute halftime.
