Regis College Names Trio of Assistant Coaches

WESTON, Mass. - Regis College (MA) men's head coach Josh Blumenthal has named Bryant Amitrano, Mike Simone and Bill Graham to his coaching staff as assistant coaches. All three coaches bring a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the staff.

Amitrano is a Valley Stream, N.Y. native and graduate of Bryant University where he was a four-year letter winner. He is currently completing his master's degree in elementary education from Regis College and will focus on the offensive side of the ball. "Bryant hates to lose at anything so practices will be highly competitive," Blumenthal said. "He will inspire excellence in our players and his enthusiasm is contagious."

Simone collected collegiate playing experience at Mount Ida College where he helped lead the team to three consecutive Northeast Atlantic Conference championships and subsequent NCAA tournament appearances. He is currently completing his master's degree in communications from Regis College and will focus on the attack and faceoff specifics. "Mike brings a positive influence to our squad with a ton of knowledge learned from his high-level collegiate experience," Blumenthal stated.

Graham begins his first season as defensive coordinator. A resident of Ashland, Massachusetts, Graham spent the previous two years as an assistant to the Framingham High School boys' lacrosse team before leading the Ashland High School boys' lacrosse to the Division 3 quarterfinals. He sent numerous players on to play at the college level, as well as coaching many all-league performers.

He received a B.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and is currently pursuing his master's degree in secondary education from Framingham State University while currently being employed as an English teacher at Ashland High School. "Bill's experience and defensive knowledge will not only strengthen our program but make every player better," Blumenthal explained.

Regis will open the 2012 season against Thomas College on Saturday, March 3 in Maine.
