High Point Signs 11 to NLIs for the 2013 Season

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- High Point University has signed 11 recruits to National Letters of Intent, head coach Lyndsey Boswell announced on Monday. The group will join HPU in the fall of 2012 and includes three attackers, seven midfielders and a defender from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.

"I'm so excited to bring in another great recruiting class our depth for this spring is already very good and will get even better when we add these 11 players," said Boswell. "This group will give us amazing speed and help us play the fast-paced style of lacrosse that we've been building a foundation for. Our increased numbers will help us get a lot of players on the field and continue to improve our team's overall skill level."

The Panthers signed three attackers: Kasey Callaway out of New London, Pa., Allie Foard from Severna Park, Md., and Lila Mastroberti of West River, Md.

Callaway went to Avon Grove and played club lacrosse for Ultimate. She's a first-team All-Area selection who had 50 goals and 56 assists as a sophomore and 69 goals and 58 assists as a junior. She is also a second-team All-Ches-Mont League selection and an Academic All-American.

Foard is an attacker from the Severn School who played club for Maryland United. She is a two-time All-D.C. Metro selection who helped her team to IWLCA President's Cup title in 2010 and a Top of the Bay Championship in 2011. She was named an "Underclassman to Watch" by ESPN High School Lacrosse in 2011.

A 6-foot-2 attacker, Mastroberti attends Southern High School and played club lacrosse for CC Lax. She was a second-team All-County selection in 2011 when she scored 32 goals with 15 assists and 43 draw controls.

Boswell and her staff brought in seven midfielders for 2012-13: Natalie Devine of Walpole, Mass., Tori Dunster of Greenwich, Conn., Julia Meehan of Weston, Mass., Emily Meier, of Sayville, N.Y., Clara Osmont of Little Silver, N.J., Leah Pace of Bel Air, Md., and Kristina Renner of East Rochester, N.Y.

Devine is a midfielder who can play attack out of Fontbonne Academy. She was named team captain as a junior and scored 73 goals with 15 assists and 38 ground balls en route to Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic honors. She also plays ice hockey and helped her team to the 2009 state championship.

Dunster was a first-team All-Conference and All-State selection as a junior, when she scored 54 goals with 21 assists for Greenwich High School. An All-America honorable mention, she helped lead her team to the Connecticut state championship and played club for the CT Chargers.

Meehan played high school lacrosse for Weston, helping her team to a 33-8-1 record and two Dual County League titles since she has been on the varsity team. In her past two seasons, she scored 93 goals with 45 assists, 33 caused turnovers and 61 draw controls.

Meier plays for Sayville, where she has been a varsity starter since eighth grade and earned team MVP honors in 2010. A midfielder who can play straight attack, she is a two-time first-team All-League, All-Conference and All-County selection and helped her team to the 2009 county title. She has totaled 198 goals and 78 assists in her four years as a varsity starter.

A 5-foot-8 midfielder who played for Red Bank High School in New Jersey, Osmont scored 17 goals and had 12 assists her junior year. She played club lacrosse for T3.

Pace played for John Carroll High School and earned All-County honors in both lacrosse and soccer in 2010. She played for the Green Turtle Lacrosse Club was named team MVP. She scored 40 goals with six assists in 2010 and had 51 goals and eight assists in 2011 for Green Turtle.
