Penn State Signs 8 to Letters of Intent for 2013

ESPN listed Bosse as the nation's No. 20 defender and positioned her at No. 97 in its 2011 top 100 player rankings. Bosse has played club lacrosse with SkyWalkers in Baltimore for seven years, currently under head coach Michael McLaughlin.

Personal: Lauren Wharton Bosse was born on June 24, 1994 in Towson, Md. to parents Paul and Patty...Has a younger brother, A.J....Her father, Paul, played men's volleyball at George Mason (1983-85), advancing to two Final Fours...Hobbies include beach volleyball, soccer, art, and music...Came to Penn State because "I love the atmosphere at Penn State. I really wanted to go to a big sports school and the academics are great at Penn State as well."

Missy Doherty on Bosse: "We first noticed Lauren because she was a great presence at the defensive end. She had great size and strength and was able to make game changing plays in the eight meter. We are looking forward to her growing into a great collegiate defender."

Madison Cyr will join her sister, Mackenzie, at Penn State in 2012, giving the Nittany Lions a third set of sisters on the roster. Cyr is a standout attacking player for Winters Mill High School in her hometown of Westminster, Md. In 2011, she scored 55 goals and notched 21 assists, earning first team all-county and all-conference accolades in addition to US Lacrosse honorable mention recognition, as the Falcons went 15-3. In her sophomore season, Cyr helped WHS capture county, conference, and regional titles en route to a state championship.

In ESPN's 2011 top high school girls rankings, Heavens was rated as the No. 22 attacker in the nation and as the No. 80 player overall. A member of the Check-Hers Elite club, Cyr won a US Lacrosse U-15 National Championship in 2009, earning all-tournament honors. She also played on the Maximum Exposure All-Star team.

Personal: Madison Bethany Cyr was born on October 18, 1994 in Bethesda, Md. to parents Gregory and Kathie...Has two sisters, Kayla and Mackenzie, that also attend Penn State...Mackenzie is a sophomore attacker on the women's lacrosse team...Plans to major is hospitality with an eye towards becoming a wedding planner...Chose Penn State because "I loved the people, the school size, the school spirit, and the team."

Missy Doherty on Cyr: "Madison has tremendous attacking ability and great vision of the field. She continues to get better and better every time we see her play and we are looking forward to her coming to Happy Valley and being a significant contributor at the offensive end."

Heather Harman, who is projected to be defender at the collegiate level, will join the Nittany Lions following her career at Milton High School in Alpharetta, Ga. A three-year starter in the midfield for the Eagles, she was a key part of their 2010 and 2011 state championship teams. A team co-captain as a junior, Harman earned first team all-state, US Lacrosse All-American, and Milton Midfielder of the Year honors. In 2010, she was named second team all-state after serving as an alternate on the All-Georgia squad as a freshman.

ESPN ranks Harman as a top 10 player in the southeast region and is rated at No. 89 in the nation in its 2011 top 100 player rankings. Harman has been a member of XTEAM, an international lacrosse club created for girls from non-traditional lacrosse areas, since 2007. Also, currently serving as a coach for the 2014 class, she works under former All-American and World Cup competitor and club founder Crista Samaras.
