Southwestern Hires Devoe as Assistant Coach

GEORGETOWN, Texas - Southwestern University has hired Rashad Devoe as the assistant coach. Devoe is already familiar with the team, volunteering as the strength and conditioning coach last season.

He got his start in lacrosse in 1996 working with the Rochester Knighthawks then moved to Philidelphia in 1999 and worked with players from the Philadelphia Wings.

In 2006 Devoe moved to the Dallas area and began working with local high school and college teams throughout Texas and was an assistant at Dallas Jesuit Prep. He has worked at some of the top recruiting camps in the country along with coaching the nationally-recognized Iron Horse Lacrosse teams.

Coach Devoe is a national writer and presenter for US Lacrosse Magazine with a monthly article and is author of a blog on their web site.

The Pirates host the third annual alumni game on Saturday at 1:00 pm before opening the season at home on February 18th against Goucher College at 1:00 pm.
