Saint Vincent Names Tulk as New Head Coach

The Saint Vincent athletic department announces the return of Peter Tulk to the position of head coach of the men's lacrosse program. He replaces Carl Haas, who has left Saint Vincent to accept the head coaching job at DePauw University (IN).

Tulk was the team's head coach from 2000-2009, compiling a record of 69-61. He led the Bearcats to their all-time best season, an 11-1 showing in 2005. Following the 2009 season, he retired from coaching, turning the reins over to Haas, who had been an assistant under Tulk.

"I enjoyed my years as a coach at Saint Vincent, I missed my association with the team the last couple of years, and I'm thrilled to be back," said Tulk, who begins his new...yet familiar...duties today.

Haas guided the team to a 5-7 record in 2010, and the team improved to a 9-5 showing last year. At DePauw, he will take over a startup program, which will compete at the club level this year before moving to varsity status next year.

The Bearcats open the 2012 season on the road at Marymount University in Virginia on February 25.
