Franklin & Marshall Storms Past Immaculata

IMMACULATA, Pa. Tristan Miller and Billy Kempner scored five goals each to lead Franklin & Marshall to a 23-1 victory over Immaculata in non-conference men's lacrosse action. The game was the season opener for both schools, as the Diplomats improved to 1-0 and the Mighty Macs fell to 0-1.

Kempner tallied back-to-back goals in the opening four minutes of the game to give F&M an early 2-0 lead. The Mighty Macs got on the board with a goal six minutes into the game, to make it 2-1, but it was all F&M after that.

James Wenk and Keith Murray tallied two goals apiece while Colin McKew dished out a game-high three assists and scored a goal. Harrison Jones, Jeff Newton, Josh Kanter, Ben Ross, Vann Jorgensen, Jason Polansky, Will Beury and Zachary Johannes all scored a goal for the Diplomats. F&M had 13 different players score in the contest.

Andrew Setian was a perfect 12 for 12 at the faceoff X and collected four ground balls. Kier Blevins picked up a game-high five ground balls and Rob Rumer finished with four.

Cameron Setian turned away 12 shots in 45 minutes of action to pick up the win in goal.

The Diplomats picked up 38 ground balls and out shot Immaculata 44-21.

F&M returns to action on Saturday when the Diplomats travel to No. 11 Lynchburg for a 1:00 p.m. game.
