The Mavericks managed to answer with two unassisted scores, stealing the lead, 5-4, with a little more than five minutes to play in the third quarter (5:43), but Morlock located sophomore attack Mike Melnychenko (St. Catharines) with 1:33 remaining in the third quarter to even the contest back up, 5-5. The Mavericks struck first in the last frame of regulation, with junior midfielder Alex Martello (Towaco, NJ) finding senior midfielder Craig Blom (Port Jefferson Station, NY) with 11:34 to play.
Melnychenko again provided the Griffins answer as he forced overtime with his second goal of the game coming off the feed of sophomore attack Kevin Sonderschafer (Warrington, PA), 6-6. Eight minutes of scoreless overtime play brought the contest to a third extra frame, where Duddy netted the game-winner 69:07 after the opening faceoff.

The men's lacrosse team continues early season ECC play with another United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) ranked opponent, #1 Merychurst College. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3.
