No. 1 Le Moyne Thunders by Notre Dame (OH)

Syracuse, N.Y. Junior attacker Brenna Bauer (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) registered a career-best eight points on five goals and a career high-tying three assists to lead top-ranked Le Moyne to a 17-1 win over Notre Dame (OH) on Sunday afternoon at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex.

Bauer got the Dolphins on the scoreboard just 46 seconds into the game off a free-position shot. Freshman Laura Hoffman (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) followed just over a minute later with her first career goal off a free-position shot. Bauer tallied Le Moyne's third goal in the opening 2:16 by finishing off a pass from senior All-American attacker Brittany Brigandi (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy/UMass).

Freshman attacker Catie McKay (Penfield, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) netted her first career goal at the 20:57 mark to give the Dolphins a 4-0 lead.

After nine minutes of scoreless action, the Dolphins scored twice in a span of 51 seconds. Bauer tallied Le Moyne's fifth goal with 11:53 remaining in the half and sophomore Kathleen Conese (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) followed with her first goal off a feed from Hoffman.

Following a drought of 6:18 without a goal, Le Moyne struck for two in 35 seconds. Brigandi tallied her first of four on the day at the 4:44 mark. Hoffman netted her second marker of the contest off a pass from Bauer with 4:09 left to make the score 8-0.

Bauer found the back of the net for the fourth time in the half with 1:12 left, while Brigandi closed out the half's scoring with four seconds to go.

Senior midfielder Stephanie Dussing (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) started the scoring in the second half after taking a feed from junior Kelly Condon (Victor, N.Y./Canandaigua) 1:45 into the half. Condon became the seventh Dolphin to score a goal at the 23:58 mark as she finished off a feed from Bauer.

Jill Dixon scored Notre Dame's only goal of the day off a free-position shot with 20:11 left in the second half.

Brigandi extended Le Moyne's lead back to 12 by scoring a man-up goal off a pass from Conese with 16:42 to go. Just over two minutes later, sophomore Victoria Nies (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) netted a free-position goal.

Following 8:36 of scoreless action, Brigandi scored off a free-position shot to give the Dolphins a 15-1 advantage with 5:58 remaining. The goal moved Brigandi into a tie for seventh on the program's all-time goals list with 120, while she jumped to ninth in career points with 143.

McKay had the assist on Le Moyne's final two goals to complete her three-point day. She fed Bauer for her fifth goal with 4:45 left and found Condon for her second goal with 2:02 remaining.

Senior goalkeeper Kelly Fucillo (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) registered seven saves, including five in the first half, to earn the victory. Kelsey Harvey, who made a save in each half, took the loss for the Falcons.

Le Moyne (1-0) returns to action on Monday, March 5 at East Stroudsburg at 3:00 p.m. The Dolphins defeated the Warriors, 16-9, to open the season last year.
