#6 Le Moyne Tops Saint Rose in Knights' Debut

Syracuse, N.Y. Junior attackman Tyler Prevost (Watertown, N.Y./Immaculate Heart/Onondaga C.C.) scored three goals and dished out two assists to lead sixth-ranked Le Moyne to a 13-2 win over Saint Rose on Sunday in non-conference at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. The contest marked the first in the history of the Saint Rose program.

Prevost got the Dolphins on the scoreboard 3:01 into the contest by finishing off a feed from sophomore midfielder Andrew Chadderdon (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn). The duo connected again four minutes and 10 seconds later to give the Dolphins a 2-0 lead.

Junior attackman Nate Frechette (Manlius, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) increased the lead to three at the 4:35 mark after taking a pass from senior midfielder Taylor Brooks (Cypress, Texas/Cy-Fair). Brooks got into the scoring column with 1:30 remaining in the first quarter with an unassisted tally. Prevost picked up his third point of the quarter by finding freshman midfielder Alec Westerhoff (Lagrange Park, Ill./Lyons Township/Bridgton Academy) for his third goal of the season with six seconds left.

Chadderdon dished out his third assist of the game 1:22 into the second quarter as Frechette found the back of the net in an extra-man situation.

The Golden Knights scored the first goal of the program's history at the 11:50 mark as Kevin Fleming scored off a behind the back shot from the right edge of the crease off a pass from Joe Pompo.

Le Moyne regained its six goal lead with 8:10 left as graduate student midfielder Tyler Sennett (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham) scored an unassisted goal. One minute and 19 seconds later, senior midfielder Aaron Cahill (Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland/Onondaga C.C.) finished off a feed from Prevost for his third goal of the campaign. Sophomore attackman Chris Button (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) closed out the scoring in the half by beating the goalkeeper off a pass from Frechette.

The Dolphins extended their lead to 12-1 with three goals in the third quarter. Prevost scored at the 7:35 mark to get the Dolphins into double-digits. Just over a minute and a half later, Chadderdon found the back of the net, while Frechette scored his third goal of the day in transition off a feed from junior midfielder Conor Regin (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee/Onondaga C.C.) with 4:58 left in the stanza.

The Golden Knights scored the first goal of the fourth quarter at the 12:57 mark as Brett McAuliffe finished off a feed from Evan Helming. Button capped the scoring in the game with his second goal off the day off a pass from freshman attackman Kevin Kelly (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) with 3:20 left.

Junior goalkeeper Jeff White (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius HS) registered his 25th career victory by making six saves, including three in the third quarter, in 47:03 between the pipes. Nick Longo turned away 13 shots in the setback for the Golden Knights.

Le Moyne (2-0) returns to action on Tuesday, March 6 at Colorado Mesa at 6:00 p.m. EST/4:00 MST.
