Storm from the North Washes over Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Keuka College used a strong start Saturday afternoon to fuel a 12-4 non-league men's lacrosse victory over Shenandoah.

The Storm (1-0) scored all three goals in the first period and the first seven overall to earn the victory over Shenandoah (0-4).

Senior Sean Mack broke the scoreless streak for the Hornets with his unassisted goal 87 seconds before halftime.

Unfortunately for the Sprint Field at Shentel Stadium fans, Keuka had an answer (on a man-down situation) 11 seconds before the halftime gun.

KC then shut SU out in the third to erase any thoughts of a Hornets comeback.

Junior Bryan Pope snapped this scoreless streak with an unassisted goal at 14:08 of the fourth before Mack closed the book on the day's scoring with two goals in the final two minutes.

Gino Marcello led the victors with two goals and four assists while Chris Redington added three goals and two assists.

Keuka had 10 different players register at least one point.

The Storm outshot Shenandoah 31-24 while the two teams split 58 groundballs.

The Hornets won 13 of 18 faceoffs.

SU is at future ODAC foe Randolph-Macon on Tuesday for a non-league contest.
