4th-Ranked Le Moyne Breezes by Colorado Mesa

Grand Junction, Colo. Senior attackman Sean Connors (Camillus, N.Y./Marcellus) scored three goals and dished out an assist to lead fourth-ranked Le Moyne to a 13-3 win over Colorado Mesa on Tuesday night at Walker Field.

The Dolphins, who scored the game's first eight goals, got on the scoreboard just 1:14 into the contest as sophomore midfielder Andrew Chadderdon (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) netted his fourth goal of the season. After five minutes of scoreless action, junior defensive midfielder Conor Regin (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee/Onondaga C.C.) caused a turnover, picked up the loose ball and raced up field before tallying his first goal as a Dolphin. Chadderdon capped the scoring in the first quarter by finishing off a pass from junior attackman Nate Frechette (Manlius, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) with 2:26 left.

Just under one minute into the second quarter, senior midfielder Taylor Brooks (Cypress, Texas/Cy-Fair) found the back of the net for the third time in three games. Sophomore face-off specialist Cameron Fedish (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley) won the ensuing face-off, fed Frechette, who then fed Connors for his first goal of the quarter. Connors scored for the fifth time this season at the 12:24 mark off a pass from junior attackman Tyler Prevost (Watertown, N.Y./Immaculate Heart/Onondaga C.C.).

Following six and one-half minutes of scoreless play, freshman midfielder Alec Westerhoff (Lagrange Park, Ill./Lyons Township/Bridgton Academy) registered an unassisted goal. With 4:45 remaining in the half, Connors completed his hat trick off a feed from junior midfielder Doug Bailey (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy).

Griffin Perkiel got the Mavericks on the scoreboard with 3:33 left in the quarter with an unassisted goal.

Kade Robinson got Colorado Mesa within 8-2 with his third goal of the season with 13:16 left in the third quarter.

Graduate student midfielder Tyler Sennett (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham) snapped Le Moyne's scoreless drought of 16:13 with his third goal of the campaign at the 3:32 mark. Sophomore attackman Chris Button (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) pushed Le Moyne's lead back to eight after taking a pass from Frechette with 53 seconds left in the quarter.

Button scored in a man-up situation with 12:21 left in the game, while Prevost followed 15 seconds later with his fourth goal of the season off a pass from Connors.

After Daniel Caddoo scored off a feed from Robinson with 8:23 remaining to complete Colorado Mesa's scoring, sophomore midfielder Matt Klepper (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius/Merrimack) wrapped up Le Moyne's scoring at the 7:15 mark with his first goal of the season.

Junior goalkeeper Jeff White (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius HS) made three saves in 50 minutes between the pipes to earn the win. Brad Brandenburg took the loss after giving up eight goals in the first half, while making seven saves.

Le Moyne (3-0), which played a team from outside the Eastern time zone for the first time in the program's history, returns to action on Thursday against Adams State at 3:00 p.m. EST/1:00 p.m. MST at Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado.
