Gophers Down Frostburg in Defensive Affair
FROSTBURG, Md. – Goucher ceded its one-goal lead midway through the second period, held Frostburg St., without another goal for 30:07, opening up a four-goal lead in the process, to win 6-3.
Kyle Boncaro scored his second and final goal of the game to put the Goucher (5-1) up 3-2 right before intermission, and the Gophers never looked back.
Despite Goucher holding a 43-26 advantage in shots, Frostburg (2-3) kept the pressure on Goucher, forcing Connor Mishaw to make four of saves (of his 9 in the game) which would have leveled the score.
