No. 3 Limestone Upended by No. 6 Merrimack

Baltimore, MD. No. 3 Limestone was defeated in the final seconds, 12-11, by No. 6 Merrimack on Saturday, March 10 in a neutral site showdown at Bishop Spalding in Baltimore, Maryland. The Saints fall to 7-1 while Merrimack goes to 2-0.

Limestone, which trailed 3-1 after the first quarter and 7-5 at half fought back and held a 10-8 advantage after three periods. The Saints would hold the lead for most of the final 15 minutes however Merrimack scored two goals over the final five-plus minutes including what proved to be the game winner with only 0:12-plus remaining in regulation.

Limestone returns to action on Wednesday, March 15 hosting Wingate in a South Region showdown at "The Rock" with the opening face-off set for 3:30 p.m.

BALTIMORE, MD No. 6 Merrimack team defeated No. 3 Limestone by the score of 12-11 in a non conference showdown on Saturday afternoon. Greg Melaugh (Billerica, Mass.) scored with 12.8 second remaining in the game to give the Warriors the victory.

Merrimack (2-0) will stay on the road for their next contest against Rollins on Thursday March 22 at 7:00 pm. The game will be played at Ridgefield high school in Connecticut.

Merrimack got off to the early lead as they scored the first three goals of the afternoon. The Warriors took the 7-5 lead into halftime before falling behind 10-8 at the end of the third.

The Warriors outscored Limestone 4-1 in the final quarter to give them the top-10 showdown victory on Saturday afternoon.
