Shorewomen Outgun Red Hawks at Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC -- Junior attacker Corinne Ziccardi (Baltimore, MD/Loch Raven) scored four goals and assisted on two others as Washington College defeated Montclair State, 17-12, in a non-conference game this afternoon in Myrtle Beach, SC.

The Shorewomen (2-1) held a 9-3 lead at halftime. The Red Hawks (2-2) cut the lead to four goals early in the second half, but could get no closer.

Senior attacker Kalli Parrish (Timonium, MD/McDonogh School) joined Ziccardi as a four-goal scorer for the Shorewomen. Sophomore midfielder Carly Eisenbrandt (Baltimore, MD/Towson) added three goals and one assist, while senior midfielder Rachel Bartee (Mount Airy, MD/South Carroll) netted three goals of her own.

Junior midfielder Mollie Shipley (Denville, NJ/Morris Catholic) tallied one goal and one assist. Senior attacker Liza Twilley(Salisbury, MD/Salisbury School) and freshman midfielder Emily Hubley(West Chester, PA/Bayard Rustin) scored one goal a piece. Junior midfielderMarissa Restaino (Media, PA/Penncrest) added one assist.

Sophomore Rachelle Martinez (Silver Spring, MD/Northwood) made her first career start in goal for Washington and posted 12 saves.

Kelly Schoneveld and Cora Delfini led Montclair State with three goals each.Kailee Beal and Krissa Henderson added two goals each, while Tierney Conlonhad a goal and two assists and Maggie Fallon scored one goal.

Washington held a 37-33 advantage in shots in the game, including a 25-7 advantage in the first half.

The Shorewomen return to action Thursday with a 5:00 p.m. game at Virginia Wesleyan.
