Neumann Wins Offensive Battle Over Blazers

ASTON, Pa.--Hood College (2-6) scored 14 goals Tuesday evening but it was not enough, as the Neumann University Knights (4-1) registered a 20-14 win over the Blazers in nonconference action.

Caitlin Lawrence contributed five goals and won six draws while Julia Banks scored four times, including two free-position goals, while Kati Vu tallied three goals and Bailey Czech and Morgan Gingles added single tallies for the Blazers. Helene Butler finished with eight saves on the night. Jennifer Fischer hustled to scoop seven ground balls, force a pair of turnovers and captured four draws to lead the defense.

Hood and Neumann traded goals over the first few possessions before the Knights reeled off three straight goals in a span of two minutes to go up 6-3 at the 18:43 mark. Eleven more goals were scored in the final 17 minutes of the period as the Knights owned a 12-8 edge at intermission.

The second half featured nearly the same offensive outburst as the first as the two squads combined for 14 more goals. The Blazers were unable to carve into Neumann's lead however as the Knights improved to 4-1 on the season.

Alexandra Bohen racked up six goals and had three assists while seven other Knights found the back of the net.

Hood is idle until March 21 when the Blazers travel to Shenandoah University for a 7:00 p.m. nonleague game.
